HISTORY OF KHALABAT TOWN SHIP

Khalabat, Khalabut or Khalabat Township (KTS)
some time also called by its residents Tarbela colony or Colony, is the one of 30 union councils administrative subdivisions, of Haripur District in the Khyber pukhtoonkhwa formerly known as (N.W.F.P) of Pakistan. Khalabat town ship is comprises four sectors and two union councils: Tarbela union council comprises sector 1 and sector 2, and Khalabat union council comprises sector 3 and sector 4.

Famous Personalities and Leaders of  Zone PF 51 and whole Provence 
There are few famous persons in Zone PF 51 and KPK first is the great leader and very beloved MPA "AKHTAR NAWAZ KHAN (Shaheed)" who make the his zone the mini Islamabad and his hard work and passion to serves people they bring KTS on the peek of the development and now zone PF 51 stand the most modern educated and establish area in Pakistan. After the shocking death of this great leader the development works can not be stop and his younger brother "GOHAR NAWAZ KHAN" (MPA) come step forward and promised his people that he never leave him alone in any kind of trouble and i completed the aim of my brother and never break people trust and they done that he break the record of development work not only his zone as will as other zone people loved him case of his devoted work. he win the election historical margin.his developmental work and his deeds detail given come next.and the son of Akhter Nawaz Khan has two son "BABAR NAWAZ KHAN" and "BILAL NAWAZ KHAN" the people call him photo copy of his great father.
Overview
Khalabat township was established in the north-east of the district Haripur between Haripur city and Tarbela lake when over 135 villages with 96,000 peoples came under water due to construction of Tarbela dam. Residential construction started in 1974 although the township was constructed according to an urban plan prepared by WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority of Pakistan) actually layout design of Khalabat township is similar to sector of Islamabad. Some of the resident are the richest people in the northern Pakistan. The inhabitants of Khalabat township are faced with unemployment, unchecked flow of narcotics, crimes and absence of civic amenities. Township has a lot of chowks and speed humps, in all together there are almost 174 speed humps, in KTS. on entering Khalabat Township there is Chunge (Toll Plaza) and All the the entering there was a a beautiful gates all that made by MPA Gohar Nawaz Khan all gates is named by Holy Prophets Names and Sahaba Karams names.After passing the toll plaza the first chowk is known as Babu chowk, the most famous chowk of KTS is Chandni chowk. (main location points are Chandni chowk, Babu chowk, Main chowk, Pakhral chowk, Hussaini chowk, Tanoli chowk and Anora moorr. main chowk is the most busiest in town for shopping as shops which sell clothes, shoes, jewellery, hardware, furniture, fast food. and very big agency of  ZXMCO motor cycle and athoer lot of things.
A large Govt graveyard is situated in sector 3 that is known as sarkari qabristan. a public library has been established in side the town committee building. a civil hospital has also been established in KTS which name is C TYPE hospital all credit of development in KTS is goes to Late AKHTAR NAWAZ KHAN   and he also established the Degree colleges for boys as well as for girls. 
There are number of villages around KTS some of them is Qazian, Jaamah, Padhana, Basira, Karpehan, Dobandi, Nakka, Malikyar, Chohar, Khewa, jagul etc
Society of KTS
Society of KTS is very rich in culture and establishment of traditions. the Hujra and Jirga still exists in the town. in the daily life the pathan of KTS still follows Pathanwali tradition, People of KTS are sports loving and they enjoying playing Volley ball, Football, Hockey, Cricket, Kabaddi, Snooker and Mokha. recently the Pakistan biggest flood lite tape ball turnament is recognized in Akhter nawaz khan stadium all over the Pakistan and national players participate in this turnament and the Special guests of the turnament are Rashid Latif (farmer Pakistani Caption and test cricketer and coach of Afghanistan cricket team) and sports minister of KPK Aqil Shah. 
Industry
when the KTS was the under construction in early 70's. Govt announced the tax free industrial zone and announcement attract lots of industrialists. in this industrial zone companies like Kawasaki motorcycles, Rehana woolen mils, Orion television, Ashi marbell, Tarbela cotton mill etc
Language spoken
The major language spoken is Hindko and Urdu. there are number of Afghan refugees living in KTS and they speak their own languages like Pashto, Persian and Turkish.
Famous Places 
Chaman park, AKHTAR Nawaz Khan stadium and Tarbela lake. lake is a picnic spot, boats can be haired by the visitors to have a tour of the Tarbela lake these can be seen standing at the sides when reached by road from Haripur. also local people use them to get the villages at the mountains for and hunting.
Climate

Khalabat town ship has four season in the year, summer winter autumn and spring but summers are very hot and winter are cold in KTS.

HISTORICAL CITY OF PAKISTAN HARIPUR HAZARA

INTRODUCTION
Haripur is a city in Haripur District in the Hazara some 65 km(40mi) north of Islamabad and 35 km(22mi)south of Abbottabad, in a hilly plain area at on altitude of 250mi(1,706ft). The city is situated on the Karakorum highway.(N35)
History
Haripur was founded by the Sikh general "Hari Singh Nalwa" in 1822 and become headquarters of Hazara(until 1853). Hari Singh Nalwa was appointed by Sikh leader "Ranjit Sing" as the second Nazim of Hazara after the first Nazim "Amar Singh Majithia" was killed by local populace of Nara.Haripur was built as a fortress surrounded by a wall which was 4 yard (3.7m) thick and 16 yard (15m) high and had only four openings that fort later become the "City Police Station".
There are the famous campus of "Allama Iqbal Open University" and a campus of "Hazara university Dhodial Mansehra". Haripur is the famous for its greenery and is a source of nursery plants ornamental and forest plants for the rest of KPK (Khyber Pakthun Khawa) and Pakistan.Drinking water was provided by digging a tank. many small drainage were dug to carry sullage  water. A small river the river "Dore" passing through the city feed the Tarbela Dam.
"Baren Hugal" visited the town on Dec 23, 1835 and the found the town humming with activity the Municipality was constituted in 1867.
An obelisk marks the grave of "Colonel Conara"  European  officer of Sikh artillery who fell in 1848 defending his guns single handed against the insurgents under "Chattar Sing" in 1851 the 4th (Hazara) mountain battery was raised from Hazara gunners who were trained by "Major Abbott" a British officer and first deputy commissioner of Hazara in order to defend the Hazara district.

The Hazara embanked on many campaigns through out the. the province population in 1901 was 5,578 and the income and expenditure  during the ten years ending 1902-3 averaged Rs. 17,800. in 1903-4 the income and expenditure were Rs. 19,100 & Rs. 20,000 respectively.
Geographical Features
Haripur is a green valley rich in fruits and vegetables and serves as the base market for the mountainous cities of Abbottabad and Mansehra the Lest of Hazara division. the main language spoken in Haripur is "Hindko"   
which is related language like Panjabi, Potohari, Gojri and Urdu.Khanpur  is the one of the main area of Haripur is famous for it red blood orange. To the north the world's largest rock fill dam, the "Tarbela Dam" 
Close the city of Haripur also lies the industrial area of  Hattar. Another major industry lying at the outside of the city "The Telephone industry of Pakistan (T I P) the biggest telephone industry in Asia". located just next TIP is National Radio Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC).

The project located at a narrow spot in the Indus river valley, at Tarbela in Haripur, shortly located at the point from where the district Swabi starts. The main wall of the build of earth and rock fill, stretches 2,743 meters(8,999ft) from the island to river right, standing 148 meters(486ft)high.
A hydroelectric power plant an the right side of the main dam houses 14 generators fed with water from out let tunnels 1, 2 and 3. There are four 175MW generators on tunnel 1, six 175MW. Generators on tunnel 2, and four 432 MW generator on tunnel 3, for a total generating capicity of 3,478MW.there are two main Indus river tributaries upstream of the Tarbela dam these are the Shyok river, joining near Skardu and the Siron river near near Tarbela. The Tarbela Dam is the third largest in term of Dam volume in the world.
Tarbela dam project resulted from a water treaty guaranteed Pakistan supplies independent of upstream control by India. Turquoise water of the Indus river reflect the high proportion of silt and clay suspended in water released by the spillways.The Tarbela dam is the largest earth and rock fill dam in the world.
there have been environmental consequences to the Indus river delta, Reduction of seasoned flloding and reduced water flows the delta have decreased mangrove stand and the abundance of some fish species.
